Final study committee members to be named

The members of the six sub-committees will be selected Thursday

Residents of Greenwood and White River Township have stepped forward and volunteered to serve on the reorganization subcommittees. To date over 40 resumes have been received to fill what is expected to be about 35 positions.

Last month the committee structure was finalized as having six sub-committees: Parks and Recreation, Finance, Health and Safety, Infrastructure, Planning and Land Use, and Governance. During a meeting Thursday evening the existing committee members will review the resumes and make assignments to the various subcommittees based on the applicants experience and interest. It is this group that will ultimately be responsible for creating the recommendation on how the two entities might become one. It will then be up to the voters to accept or reject this proposal.

The meeting start at 6:30 PM Thursday at the Greenwood City Building, 2 N. Madison Ave. We will be providing a live webcast and, more importantly, the public is encouraged to attend.
