It’s not about the schools

Regardless of the outcome of the reorganization effort, the school districts are unchanged

There seems to a misconception that the reorganization discussions between White River Township and Greenwood will affect the school districts. This is simply a misunderstanding. The boundaries of municipalities, townships and school districts are totally independent in Indiana.

There are residents of Greenwood and Bargersville who attend Center Grove schools, in addition to those living in unincorporated White River Township. In fact, the boundaries of White River Township and the Center Grove School district are exactly the same. This is very apparent on this map. (This and other great links are available on our Resources page.)

So, when you are learning about the activities of the Reorganization Committee, on this site or in other locations, have no fear, your children will not have to change schools. Let’s make the right decision based on the right information. If you have a question about the reorganization, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer it. If we can’t answer it, chances are we can find someone who can.
