The incorporation option is on the table

To my fellow White River Citizens,

As I have watched the re-organization committee, the annexations, and the lawsuits unfold over the past few months, I have become more and more convinced that incorporation is the right path for the Center Grove area of White River Township.  To this point, I am announcing the formation of a organization specifically dedicated to creating the town of Center Grove, Indiana.  It is supported through a web site that site that can be found at this link:  www.centergrovetown.org.

On this site, you will find information on the self-incorporation process, frequently asked questions (FAQ), and details on how you can get involved.  Highlights include a .PDF file on the FAQ page where we address the question “how much is this going to cost me?” by taking a deep dive into how your property taxes are calculated.  Also, included in this article are our thoughts on how certain government services could be provided at minimal cost.

Creating our own city will create many advantages for us, one of which is that our money that we currently pay out to other government entities will come back to us.  While it is too early to release the details, we have a CPA who has calculated the revenues that the city could take in, much of which comes from funds currently directed to the County and from state taxes that you already pay but go to others. Even more advantageous  is the ability to create a government structure that is more efficient and less costly than any other in the state of Indiana.  If you are just curious, want to learn more, or are ready to get involved, please visit the site and help us move this effort forward.
