We inquired about it almost 15 years ago. At the time it was owned by the school and was not for sale. Is there any chance that a homeowner bordering the property could purchase a couple of acres? That $40,000 would feed a lot of poor people - which is actually one of the things a township trustee is SUPPOSED to do. Along with maintaining cemeteries and helping bury the poor, that is. I don't see "parks" anywhere in the job description of township government. You can do a lot of all three of those statutory requirements with a million dollars - which is the amount of money that the township trustee and township board are walking away from by not selling the land at value.
