I attended Center Grove since the 4th grade, graduating in 1964. I still live in WRT and, obviously, love it here. My son and daughter are CG graduates. When I visit my son in the Carmel area I see what a city with visionary leadership can do. It really is a unique, attractive, and thriving community. I have never seen any kind of vision from the Greenwood government other than scrapping for business to ease their tax base (Cabellas anyone) ? I will vote NO! to pay ANY increase in property tax to be a party to the Greenwood governmental system.

COMMON SENSE 101

Small town....Small Govt. ....Small Taxes

Bigger City...Bigger Govt. ...Higher Taxes

Greenwood hasn't already annexed this area because of the cost to do so. (Remember the sewer issue) If we put them in, they would ride in on their white horse and save us all.
If we hand them the area on a silver platter, it will save them money because once again, WE will pay the expenses for it in the long run. I see people commenting on property values. You want to see your values drop? Become part of a Greenwood.
Do a little research and you will find the answers.
We should either Incorporate or leave it alone and let Greenwood pay the bill if they want it.

Agreed wholeheartedly! I don't want my tax rates spiking 18 to 19 percent - for what? I, for one, am more than happy with county highway, the services of the Sheriff's Office, White River Fire Department (which in my opinion has grown by leaps and bounds to become one of the finest fire departments in the county, if not the region) and the level of service provided by the county government in White River Township as it exists currently. In a time of massive expanse of government at the Federal level, now is most certainly not the time to do the same at the local level, especially when the benefits to many of us in the currently unincorporated area are negligible at best.

Am I against incorporation? No. But I also don't believe that what amounts to an annexation by the City of Greenwood is the answer either.
