We say “Let the voters decide”
At the Tuesday December 8 joint meeting in a comment before the council and White River Township board I (Jody) asked the board and council to approve the plan no matter how they feel. My comments came when the township board asked for public comments. After nearly a year of research and planning we have what is most likely the best plan that will be presented by this committee. Some may disagree, I may disagree, but it is what it is, and it is unlikely any further changes will be made.
There is a time to be a republic, where the people we elect make decisions but right now is time for democracy which very simply defined is “majority rule”. We call on both the Greenwood Common Council and the White River Township Board to pass the reorganization plan and let the residents decide how they want to be governed.
