CenterGroveInc blocked in China
Hard to believe, but it seems that CenterGroveInc.org is actually block by the censors in China. After my recent three week business trip to Shanghai I wrote an article about how important it is for citizens be to be involved in their government. I am now more convinced of that than ever.
While I was in Shanghai I had difficulty accessing the Internet. I already knew that they blocked certain search terms, such as ”Tienanmen Square”, and certain web sites, such as Facebook. Sure, I also had trouble getting to Amazon.com, CenterGroveInc.org and many others. I just thought it was a bad Internet connection in the hotel and didn’t give it much more thought. But now I have more information.
I recently made contact with an old friend who spent many years in China. In the first few e-mails he mentioned that he could not get to my Facebook page or CenterGroveInc. We exchanged a few more e-mails concerning a second trip I may take early next year and then I asked: Where are you? China, he replied. Now it all comes together. He can’t get to Facebook because Facebook is blocked, that’s public knowledge. But, he can’t get to CenterGroveInc because we are blocked as well.
Now, don’t take this wrong. In no way am I suggesting in any way that we have been singled out. But what I am saying is that China has sophisticated web filtering software that keeps their citizens from seeing things they don’t want them to see. Apparently this web site contains enough “key words” to trip an automatic filter that prevents those inside the People’s Republic of China from reading the content. (As a side note, a co-worker noted that when he was watching CNN on the hotel TV a CNN report on China simply disappeared, with CNN returning after the report was done.)
All this goes back to the basic point I made in my first article: Use the freedom you have. Become involved. Sure, we have our own opinion on what is going on concerning the Greenwood/White River Township reorganization effort, but our first goal is to get you to tell everyone else what you think. We will never censor any comment or contribution simply because we disagree with you.

Dann,
At the rate the commies in DC are moving I’m not sure we are to far away from that happening here, if not already on a limited scale.
Thank you guys for your time and effort in providing the info about the WRT-GW merger, I know you have a lot of time invest in this site alone.
