Messick Wins!
In what comes as a surprise if not an upset Township Board member Mark Messick has defeated incumbent Jay Marks for the Township Trustee position in White River Township. The race, heated towards the end, was expected by most to got to Marks whose deep roots and political savvy should have carried the day. However it would appear that Messick’s message of cleaning up the accounting, trimming the budget and working with the county, Bargersville and Greenwood resonated with the voters.
Marks may have lost the primary but his slate of “PRAY” candidates, Pollard, Rainbolt, and Young took all three township board seats. In the sheriff race, Doug Cox edged Bill Pfifer by less than 400 votes. Troy DeHart finished third.

So what exactly will the winning township board members bring to the table once the merger is defeated?
What is their vision for the township?
They asked for the responsibility, now they’ve got it.
