Reorganization, over for good?
Is it really over? Is White River Township once again the wild west of annexation and potentially residents without a town? The township attorney appears to think so based on comments in today’s Daily Journal. White River Township board member Mark Messick isn’t so sure but he also didn’t say that the reorganization issue can be changed to appear on the 2012 ballot.
Are we back to square one? Do we have to start over? Will Bargersville grab everything they can before Greenwood grabs what it can? Will those of use without Bargersville sewer service be left as lonely townless step-homes without a town council? Like sands through the hour glass these are the days of our lives in Center Grove.

Jody,
Your soap opera commentary makes me smile. It is however, very fitting for the drama being played out over this bothched initiative to reorganize a community.
Legal opinion would say it is over.
Political opinion would say the fat lady has not yet cleared her throat.
I am curious to which interputation of the missed deadline to get the referendum on the ballot for Novmeber 2010 you believe.
1. The Advisory Board dropped the ball and missed the deadline due to incompetence.
2. Mayor Charlie and his side kicks, Sherman and Messick, intentionally missed the deadline because they feared defeat at the polls and the issue would be dead and no resurrection possible.
I have heard both but have not read, I may have missed it, what is your take on the matter.
Comment made on August 22nd, 2010 at 10:18 amI can see both scenarios. However I find it hard to believe that after all the work they could “miss the deadline”. Didn’t anyone in involved in this put a reminder on their calendar?
